The element of community is perpetual within sports, from the first time the neighborhood kids assemble for two-hand touch to the re-naming of rec-centers in honor of a hometown all-star. There are very few sports that don't include teams and as the old saying goes, "There is no 'I' in 'Team.'" Well, the biggest team is community and that is why it is important to highlight athletes who recognize this fundamental quality of life and sports--those who give back in some way to the next generation.
